League Format

  • No cap on the number of players in each team. (teams have the flexibility to work out numbers on their own)
  • Default Gender Ratio is 4:3 for Summer League 2009, unless both team captains agree otherwise, during a match.
  • 2009 WFDF Rules will be used throughout Summer League 2009. Please familiarize yourselves with the details, which can be found at the website: WFDF – Rules of Ultimate 2009
  • League will start from May till end of June. (exact dates will be finalized soon)
  • All matches will be played at Sengkang Fields on Sundays from 2pm to 6pm.

TWO-TIERED LEAGUE SYSTEM
Teams will be split into two separate tiers, namely:

  • Summa (Upper Tier)
  • Magna (Lower Tier)

When signing up for the league, all team captains are to indicate on the TEAM REGISTRATION FORM, stating his/her team’s preference to play in either Summa / Magna for Summer League 2009.

In the interests of time, not all teams will be able to play in Summa.

Once registration is closed, the Summer League 2009 Committee and UPA(S) Executive Committee will decide on the maximum possible number of teams that would be allowed to play in Summa.

Teams will be split according to their playing level. Taking the captains’ preferences into account, we will match the teams accordingly and to the best of our abilities.

However, given a limit to the number of teams allowed to play in Summa, there is a distinct possibility that some teams might have to be shifted into Magna even though they prefer to play in Summa.

In the case of a dispute, the UPA(S) Executive Committee will make the final call and decide on the placement of the team.

** LEAGUE SPECIAL **

Teams will be allowed to discuss with their opponents for that week to determine if they would like to play at a different timeslot and at a different location

If this option is chosen, both teams would go to the decided location and play the match. Teams would have to provide their own cones and discs for the match. Following which, they would have to report the scores/ stats to the Summer League 2009 Committee.

[Example]

  • DiscKnights is scheduled to play Shiok this coming Sunday at Sengkang at 4pm.
  • DiscKnights and Shiok decide to play on Saturday 2pm at West Coast Park instead.
  • DiscKnights and Shiok notify the Summer League 2009 Committee about the arrangement.
  • Both teams set up their own game on Saturday and play.
  • After the match, both team captains report the scores and send the stats sheet to the Summer League 2009 committee.
  • Therefore, both teams do not need to go to Sengkang on Sunday to play.

NOTE: The fields on Sunday will be set up as planned regardless of whether the match is on or not.
